Ado-Odo Ota Farmers Petition Senator Yayi Over Seized Empowerment Tractors, Custodian Alleges Harassment and Detention
ADO-ODO OTA, OGUN STATE – Farmers in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State have petitioned Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi over the alleged seizure of two tractors donated under the Yayi Agriculture Empowerment Programme. In a petition dated August 18, 2026, addressed to the Senator and copied to the Chairman of the Yayi Agriculture Empowerment Program and the Area Commander, Sango Ota, members of the Ado-Odo Ota Farmers Forum alleged that the tractors, which were handed over to them in April 2025, have been withdrawn from farming activities. According to the petition, one of the tractors was in the custody of Comrade Busayo Soroyeun, whose name appears on the official list of beneficiaries obtained by Alagbawi News as the representative for farmers in the local government.
