OGUN 2027: OLUMAKO RIPS HUNYE APART, SAYS COURT ACTION IS WAR ON OGUN WEST AND APC LOYALTY
The Director General of Yayi Liberator in Ogun State, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako, has torn into Abayomi Hunye over his court action seeking to nullify the emergence of Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi as the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate for 2027. In a blistering press statement issued Monday in Ota, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako described Hunye’s lawsuit as the last desperate move of a political tourist who has contributed nothing to APC but has mastered the art of litigation and noise making.
Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako said Hunye’s court case is not about justice, it is about ego and bitterness after APC rejected his empty ambition through consensus. When you file a suit to stop Senator Yayi, you are not fighting a man, you are fighting Ogun West, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako declared. Senator Yayi is an indigenous son of Ogun West. His roots, his family, his history are in Ogun West. For years Ogun West has begged for equity, for rotation, for fairness. APC answered through consensus. Now Hunye wants to use black market lawyers to overturn the will of the people. That will not stand.
Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako accused Hunye of being a stranger to APC grassroots work. While Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako and Yayi Liberator have been in the 20 local government areas registering voters, sensitizing youths, and defending APC when it was under attack, Hunye was nowhere to be found. He only appears when there is money to share or a crisis to exploit. A real party man builds structures, Hunye builds court files. APC rewards loyalty, not litigation. Hunye is angry because his name was not on the consensus list. That is his problem, not the problem of Ogun people.
The Yayi Liberator DG threw down a direct challenge that left no room for hiding. Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako said if Hunye believes he has followership, let him organize a stadium political contest and let APC delegates vote openly. Let the people decide who they want, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako said. If Hunye can get 3 votes in a stadium filled with APC members, then maybe he married three wives, because I am sure he will not get more than one vote. The man has no ward, no LGA, no structure, no footprint. He cannot even mobilize his street, yet he wants to govern Ogun State. That is the height of political arrogance.
Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako also challenged Hunye to publish his scorecard against Senator Yayi’s record. List one school you built, one hospital you supported, one youth you empowered, one road you facilitated, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako demanded. Senator Yayi’s footprints are across Ogun West, Ogun Central and Ogun East in education, health, youth programs and infrastructure advocacy. That is why traditional rulers and Ogboni Aborigin with 20,000 members are standing with him. If Hunye’s personal achievements reach 5 percent of Yayi’s impact as an Ogun West son, then he should speak. If not, he should keep quiet and allow destiny to run its course.
Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako said while Hunye is busy drinking tea with lawyers, Yayi Liberator is busy with PVC mobilization across every ward. Handover is May 29, 2027. No court can nullify what the people have already decided, he said. Ogun does not need a courtroom politician. Ogun needs a builder with a tested record. Ogun needs a son of the soil who understands the pain of the people. That son is Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi of Ogun West. And Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako will defend that mandate with the last drop of his strength. The APC adopted consensus for Senator Yayi after wide consultations across Ogun West, Ogun Central and Ogun East, and that decision remains final.
