"Police Get Kudos: IGP Disu's Swift Action Refunds Victim's 100k Cash Extorted By Swat Officers"
A disturbing case of alleged police misconduct has emerged from the Balogun area in Iju Otta, where SWAT officers were accused of engaging in a pattern of extortion, harassment, and illegal arrests. However, in a swift response, the Police Public Complaints Unit in Abuja has refunded the ₦100,000 extorted from victim Fatoki, a local herbalist.
According to Fatoki, the incident occurred on Friday, March 6, 2026, at approximately 11pm, when SWAT officers raided Humble Star Hotel in Onigbin, located near Obasanjo Farms Limited. The officers, reportedly led by an individual identified as I.K., stormed the hotel in a commando style, arresting several individuals, including Fatoki, who was lodging at the hotel.
Thanks to the prompt action of the Police Public Complaints Unit, the money has been refunded in full, and the matter is being investigated. We commend the Inspector General of Police, Tunji Disu, for his unwavering commitment to accountability and transparency. His leadership is already yielding results, and we applaud his dedication to reforming the force.
"The swift action taken by the police is a testament to IGP Disu's vision for a more accountable and people-centric police force," said a community leader. "We urge citizens to continue reporting incidents of police misconduct and trust that their concerns will be addressed under his leadership."
The investigation is ongoing, and Alagbawi TV will continue to follow the story and provide updates as more information becomes available. Kudos to IGP Disu for setting a new standard for police accountability!
