Yayi Liberators Responds to Unwarranted Criticisms of Senator Bamidele's Support for Senator Yayi

Ogun State, Nigeria - Yayi Liberators  through it Director General, Otunba Ibrahim Fayomi, Olumako, today issued a comprehensive rebuttal to the unfounded criticisms levelled against Senator Opeyemi Bamidele's endorsement of Senator Yayi's candidacy for Governor of Ogun State.

Senator Bamidele, a distinguished lawyer, human rights advocate, and seasoned politician, has a proven track record of public service. His roles have included serving as:

- Former aide and Special Adviser to the Attorney-General of the Federation

- Human rights activist with the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO)

- Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Lagos State

- Member, House of Representatives (2011–2015)

- Senator, Ekiti Central Senatorial District (2023–present)

- Senate Majority Leader

"Senator Bamidele's support for Senator Yayi is a testament to their shared commitment to effective governance and regional progress," the statement noted. "As colleagues in the Senate, they have collaborated on key issues impacting Ogun State and Nigeria. This endorsement reflects Bamidele's confidence in Yayi's vision and leadership abilities."

The statement emphatically rejected insinuations of external influence: "Senator Yayi is an Ogun State indigene with an impeccable track record. His achievements in Ogun West and across the state over the past two years are a matter of public record, marked by transformative infrastructure projects and community empowerment initiatives. Attempts to undermine his candidacy through divisive rhetoric are disingenuous and lack credible evidence."

Otunba Ibrahim Fayomi, Olumako, also noted that any critique about Senator Yayi's indigeneity is still in doubt, and those in doubt should endeavour to visit his parents where they are to verify.

Yayi Liberators posed pointed questions to critics: "What tangible achievements can your preferred candidates claim in Ogun State that rival Senator Yayi's performance? When did they join active politics, and what significant contributions have they made? Senator Yayi's over 20 years of public service and Bamidele's proven leadership speak volumes about their dedication to Nigeria's development."

The statement concluded: "We urge detractors to engage in substantive policy debates rather than resorting to unsubstantiated allegations. Senator Bamidele's support for Yayi is a reflection of their focus on progress, not politics."
