Residents of Ado Odo Ota local government in Ogun state have reacted to the manner in which the convoy of the Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun violated traffic rules when he was on a campaign tour in the local government earlier in the week.

The governor who had to ply one way while returning to Ifo local government in continuation of his campaign tour had earlier been welcomed with songs of war while approaching Lonmardy area on the Ota - Idiroko axis.

The governor who was not pleased with the unpleasant chant from the people had to come down from his car to address the aggrieved residents.

While addressing the residents, the governor appealed for calm and understanding while his government engage the Federal government on reconstruction of the road.

He also said he had instructed the commissioner for works in Ogun state to work out modalities on fixing the bad portion of the road.

Meanwhile, the governor's convoy was later spotted driving against traffics while returning from the campaign ground.

Most residents who spoke with our correspondent expressed disappointment in the governor saying he should have also drove on the bad portion of the road to know exactly the pains resident go through everyday rather than drive on against traffic.

Our correspondent who sort the view of road experts on whether the governor was right to have driven against traffic explained that though, it is an offence to drive against traffic, the governor has immunity and as such, can not be arrested.

Comments

  1. He came for campaign not to fix any Road. 2023 looming ahead. He shouldn't have visited Ado-Odo Ota if not having a mission of campaign at all. The way Mr Governor felt the bad portions situation of the road is good and of he's not inhumane in that sense, he'll do something
