ABEOKUTA, Ogun State
The Director General of Yayi Liberator in Ogun State, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako, has lambasted Abayomi Hunye for writing an open letter to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the letter as a collection of cooked and bull stories that add no value to the unity of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State. In a sharp statement issued Saturday in Abeokuta, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako said Abayomi Hunye has already demonstrated that he is not a loyal member of the APC by dragging the consensus candidate of the party to court. Why now write to the president after choosing the courtroom as your first option, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako asked. Party loyalty is not seasonal. You cannot fight the party in court and turn around to write emotional letters when the wind changes.
Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako said the content of Abayomi Hunye’s open letter is nothing but thrash dressed in grammar. All the cock and bull story writing in the letter is nothing but thrash, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako stated. It is a desperate attempt to stay relevant after the party had spoken through consensus. The APC in Ogun State followed due process and gave Ogun West its rightful turn. If you believe in the party, you stand with the party. If you do not believe, then stop hiding inside the party to cause confusion. President Tinubu is a father of the party and a leader who knows the difference between genuine loyalty and courtroom betrayal.
Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ignore the letter and focus on the bigger assignment of nation building. We urge the president to ignore the letter, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako said. The president has no time for political noise from people who first drag the party’s mandate to court and then run to Aso Villa with pen and paper. Ogun State has moved on. The people have accepted the consensus candidate and the journey toward 2027 is already in motion. Distractions will not derail it.
Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako challenged Abayomi Hunye to prove the popularity he keeps claiming by stepping out of the APC to test his strength. If Abayomi Hunye thinks he is popular as claimed, let him go to another party to test his popularity, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako stated. Real leaders test their followership in the field, not in open letters. Go to another party, face the electorate, and let the people decide. Until then, stop confusing party members with drama that cannot win a single ward for you. APC Ogun is united, focused and committed to delivering an indigenous son of Ogun West as governor in 2027.
Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako concluded that Yayi Liberator will continue to defend the mandate of the people and will not allow courtroom politicians and letter writers to distract the movement. The era of using the APC platform to fight the APC is over, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako said. Ogun people want builders, not betrayers. They want a serial winner, not a serial court chaser.
