Ado Odo Otta, Ogun State - A disturbing video obtained from Object Media TV's social media channel has sparked outrage in Ado Odo Otta, showing a man in a police polo shirt harassing a road user and threatening to fight him near an electricity distribution station opposite Efizzy Lounge and Bar, just before Ijagba roundabout.


The suspect, believed to be a "police dog" (Aja Olopa in Yoruba), is heard accusing the road user of not respecting him, and tensions escalate as he threatens violence. The road user's face is not shown in the video, but his voice is heard accusing the suspect of harassing and extorting people in the area.


According to sources, the suspect is not an officer but is known to facilitate extortion for police officers in the area. Residents claim that police officers from the Itele Otta division regularly extort ₦200 from motorcycle and tricycle riders daily, making it a normal occurrence. This has been a long-standing issue, and residents are calling for the Ogun State Commissioner of Police to take action.


The incident has sparked concerns about police harassment and abuse of power in the area. Residents are demanding that the Ogun State Commissioner of Police takes immediate action against the suspect and addresses the systemic issues that enable such behavior.


The Ogun State Police Command has yet to comment on the matter. The incident highlights the need for police reform and accountability in Nigeria, where allegations of corruption and abuse of power are common.


The video has gone viral, with many calling for the suspect to be brought to justice. As one resident said, "This has been going on for too long, and it's time the police command takes concrete steps to restore trust and ensure the safety of our people."
