Larrybash Hosts Roundtable on Nigeria@65 at Ota Residence, Champions Opportunities for Ado-Odo/Ota Constituency
High Chief Olanrewaju Bashorun, popularly known as Larrybash, a philanthropist and aspirant for the Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency in the Ogun State House of Representatives, marked Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary with a dynamic roundtable discussion at his residence in Ota. Titled Nigeria@65: Breaking Barriers and Unlocking Opportunities for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, the event on October 1, 2025, brought together over 200 youth, students, community leaders, and online audiences to chart a progressive path for the constituency and Nigeria at large.
Held at Bashorun’s Ota home, the gathering transformed his residence into a hub of intellectual and patriotic exchange. Addressing attendees under Nigeria’s green-white-green flags, Larrybash set the tone: “At 65, Nigeria stands at a crossroads. For Ado-Odo/Ota, breaking barriers means creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and empowering our youth to lead. This roundtable is our commitment to that vision.” The event, blending physical and virtual participation, underscored his aspiration to represent the constituency in the 2027 elections, likely under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The roundtable featured robust discussions on critical issues facing Ado-Odo/Ota, including unemployment, inadequate healthcare, and poor road networks. Constituents, including students from Gateway ICT Polytechnic and local secondary schools, shared personal stories of economic hardship and limited opportunities. Kemi Adebayo, a 21-year-old participant, said, “This isn’t just a celebration; it’s a call to action. High Chief Bashorun listens and acts—his home felt like a parliament for the people.”
Facilitated by the Bashorun Community Development Initiative (BCDI), the event included workshops on digital skills and entrepreneurship, alongside a cultural showcase of Yoruba music and dance. Essay competitions on national unity and constituency development saw winners receive scholarships, laptops, and mentorship opportunities. A symbolic flag-hoisting ceremony, led by local elders, reinforced communal pride.
Extending the dialogue globally, Larrybash live-streamed the roundtable on X, Instagram, and TikTok, engaging thousands under hashtags #NigeriaAt65 and #OtaRising. Over 3,000 online participants, including Nigerians in the UK, US, and Canada, joined virtual polls on governance and youth inclusion, amplifying the constituency’s voice. “Connecting Ado-Odo/Ota to the world is how we unlock opportunities,” Larrybash noted.
Since 2020, BCDI has empowered over 800 residents with vocational training and micro-loans, positioning Bashorun as a formidable contender against other aspirants. The Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Chairman praised the event, stating, “High Chief Bashorun’s residence became a beacon of hope, fostering unity and purpose.”
