Ota, Ogun State - In a grand ceremony held at Heritage Hotel and Resorts, Ota, on Friday, August 29, 2025, High Chief Olanrewaju Bashorun LARRYBASH was decorated as the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Ado-Odo/Ota chapter's Man of the Year 2025.
The award, considered the organization's most prestigious honor, was presented to LARRYBASH by TAMPAN's state governor, Prince Owolabi Ajasa, also known as the Inspector General of Police of Nollywood.
In his remarks, Prince Ajasa praised LARRYBASH's contributions to the development of TAMPAN and the theater and art industry, stating, "It's not surprising that LARRYBASH has been chosen for this award, given his active support and solidarity to our organization."
LARRYBASH, who is also the Seriki of the Ota Awori kingdom, expressed gratitude to TAMPAN for the honor and emphasized the need for Awori land to leverage the power of theater art to tell its stories and preserve its history.
"We cannot afford to be laid back in the trend of telling the true stories of our ancestors, cultural festivals, and heroes through movies," LARRYBASH said. "We have to be intentional in achieving this feat, and I'm inspired to diversify in this area."
The event was attended by Nollywood actors and actresses, who showed support for LARRYBASH's 2027 House of Representatives aspiration. The chairman of the planning committee, Pastor Femi Atunramu, declared that the entire structure of TAMPAN Ado-Odo Ota local government would canvass and vote en masse for LARRYBASH's aspiration.
"TAMPAN Ado-Odo Ota local government hereby declares to use our profession and persons to canvass and vote en masse for your House of Representatives aspiration to represent Ado-Odo Ota federal constituency in 2027," Pastor Atunramu stated.
This development has generated excitement among LARRYBASH's supporters, who see his recognition by TAMPAN as a testament to his commitment to the arts and his potential to make a positive impact in the House of Representatives.
