CITIZENS' CHARTER: Ado-Odo/Ota Residents Present Comprehensive Demands to Local Government

In a landmark event that underscores the growing importance of participatory governance, the Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Engagement Platform yesterday presented a comprehensive Charter of Demands to the Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu.

The charter, which was presented by Prince Femi Fadina on behalf of the platform, outlines a broad range of demands across critical sectors, including education, healthcare, road infrastructure, youth empowerment, agriculture, women's empowerment, and accountability in governance.

The presentation, which took place at the Council Secretariat in Ota, was attended by a diverse coalition of stakeholders, including community development committees, youth councils, civil society organizations, and representatives of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD).

In his remarks, Hon. Wasiu commended the citizens for their active engagement and assured them of the Council's commitment to working on the outlined demands. He also announced plans to set up a monitoring and implementation committee to ensure timely response to the demands.

The charter presentation is a significant milestone in the efforts of the Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Engagement Platform to promote inclusive governance and ensure that the voices of citizens are heard in local development planning.

As the platform continues to engage with the local government, citizens are eager to see tangible results from this charter, which they believe has the potential to transform the lives of residents in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.
