Yayi Liberators Urge Caution: Shelving August 1 Protest Will Pave Way for Meaningful Dialogue

As the planned protest of August 1 approaches, the Yayi Liberators have issued a passionate appeal to protesters to reconsider their plans. In a statement released today, the group urged demonstrators to shelve the protest and instead engage in constructive dialogue with the government.

According to the Yayi Liberators, the current political climate demands a peaceful and respectful approach to addressing grievances. "We understand the frustrations and concerns that have led to the planned protest," said Comrade Chief Ibrahim Fayomi Olumako, Convener of the Yayi Liberators. "However, we believe that meaningful progress can be achieved through dialogue and collaboration, rather than confrontation."

The Yayi Liberators emphasized that the government has demonstrated a willingness to listen and engage with stakeholders, and that protesters should take advantage of this opportunity. "By shelving the protest, we can create a conducive environment for constructive dialogue and find solutions that benefit everyone," Comrade Olumako added.

The group also expressed concerns about the potential consequences of the protest, referencing the damages it birthed in the last End SARS protests. "We cannot afford to compromise the safety and well-being of our citizens, nor can we afford to undermine the progress we have made as a nation," Comrade Olumako said.

The Yayi Liberators urged protesters to consider alternative channels for expressing their grievances, such as town hall meetings, petitions, and engagement with government officials. "Let us work together to build a better Nigeria, through peaceful and respectful means," Comrade Olumako concluded.
