In a bid to strengthen collaboration and support for women's participation in local governance, the Ado-Odo/Ota Women for Good Governance Citizens Group paid a courtesy visit to the Olota of Ota, Oba (Professor) Adeyemi Abdulkabir Obalanlege, on Monday, July 15, 2024.

The group, led by Adeshola Afariogun, Executive Director of the African Foundation for Environment and Development (AFED), discussed their mission and ongoing efforts to empower women within the Ado-Odo/Ota community. Their initiatives aim to promote transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in governance through various training programs and capacity-building workshops.

The Olota of Ota expressed his support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of women's active involvement in governance for the community's overall progress. He also suggested a tree planting project to combat climate change within Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, highlighting the environmental benefits and the importance of community involvement.
