Yayi Liberators Celebrate Democracy Day, Salute Heroes Past, Present, and Future
The Yayi Liberators political movement today joins Nigerians across the country to celebrate Democracy Day, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's journey towards democratic consolidation.
Speaking at a press conference in Abeokuta, Comrade Ibrahim Fayomi, Convener of the Yayi Liberators, praised the memory of Chief M.K.O Abiola, a champion of democracy and a symbol of hope for a better Nigeria. He eulogized Abiola's courageous stand against military rule and his unwavering commitment to democratic principles, which inspired a generation of Nigerians.
Fayomi also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to democratic values and good governance, particularly his Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at rekindling hope and optimism in the country. He praised the President's efforts to boost economic growth, improve security, and strengthen democratic institutions.
In addition, Fayomi saluted Governor Dapo Abiodun's leadership in Ogun State, highlighting the significant progress made in infrastructure development, education, and healthcare. He also praised Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan Yayi's contributions to the people of Ogun West Senatorial District, noting his selfless service and commitment to the welfare of the people.
The Yayi Liberators reiterated their commitment to democracy, inclusivity, and good governance, urging Nigerians to unite in their quest for a better Nigeria. They emphasized the need for continued democratic consolidation and the importance of honoring the sacrifices of heroes past.
The briefing was attended by various dignitaries, including Elder Adesanwo Ayodele, Coordinator of the Ogun East senatorial district; Honourable Ojo Emmanuel, Coordinator of the Ogun Central senatorial district; and Honourable Lekan Ogunsanwo, State Secretary.
In their remarks, the dignitaries echoed the importance of democratic values and the need for continued progress in Nigeria's democratic journey. They also praised the Yayi Liberators for their commitment to good governance and their contributions to the development of Ogun State.
