Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Group Hail Road Contract Award, Demand Transparency

Ado-Odo/Ota, Ogun State - The Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Group on Road Infrastructure has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for awarding the contract for the Ado-Odo/Ota-Abeokuta Road reconstruction. The group, however, called for transparency and public disclosure of contract details, including the contractor's name, contract value, scope of work, and project timelines.

At a press conference, Coordinator Mrs. Olajumoke Odeyemi urged the government to prioritize Ado-Odo/Ota for development interventions, considering its strategic importance and economic contributions. "This critical road project should be the beginning of a broader commitment to improving our area," she said.

The group offered support for the project's success and urged the government to make contract details public to ensure transparency and accountability. "By making these details public, we can ensure that all stakeholders are informed and can participate in the monitoring and tracking of the project's progress," Mrs. Odeyemi emphasized.

Present at the press conference, NBA Ota Branch Chairman Mr. Olumide Adegoke commended the Governor for awarding the contract. "We welcome this development and urge the government to ensure transparency and accountability in the project's execution," he said. "We will engage the government in a matured way, without resorting to protests for now. We believe the governor is a man of his words and will match his words with action."

Mr. Adegoke requested that the Governor provide full details of the contract, including the timing. "We urge the Governor to make public the contract details, including the contractor's name, contract value, scope of work, and project timelines. This will demonstrate the government's commitment to transparency and accountability," he said.

The Ado-Odo/Ota Citizens Group on Road Infrastructure praised the Governor's initiative in addressing the community's long-standing request for road infrastructure development. "We appreciate the Governor's efforts to improve the quality of life for residents, and we look forward to positive action from the government," Mrs. Odeyemi concluded.
