Lado/Tripple A, Obanibasiri, Others Flag Off PDP Campaign In Ogun
The Peoples Democratic Party's Candidate in Ogun state, Hon. Ladi Adebutu (Lado), his running mate, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade (Tripple A), alongside the Ogun west Senatorial Candidate, Chief Ganiyu Dada (Obanibasiri), and other flag bearers at the 2023 elections in Ogun state, on Wednesday, flagged off the state's campaign in Ipokia local government.
The trail, which had a brief stop at the palace of Oniko of Ikolaje, HRM Oba John, Olakunle Ojo before addressing the waiting crowd that came out in thousands to welcome Hon. Ladi Adebutu, Chief Obanibasiri, and other flag bearers on the platform of PDP in the coming election.
While addressing the mammoth crowd who welcomed the Senatorial Candidate to Ipokia with different songs of praises and choruses, Chief Ganiyu Dada Obanibasiri, assured them of 'renewed hope, while urging them not to vote a 'stranger', who is only looking to buy the people's conscience for his own personal gains.
In his exact words, "don't vote a total stranger at the poll in February. Let's not give someone who is alien to us a chance to lord over us. Genuine representation should be prioritized at the expense of cash or material gifts".
He urged electorates in Ipokia to avoid selling their votes for a 'pot of porridge'. Instead, they should eat whatever they are offered, because it's their common wealth and vote for a true son of the soil who knows where the shoe pinches.
In his own address, Hon. Ladi Adebutu, canvassed eligible voters to vote all PDP candidates in Ogun state and also vote enmasse for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Okowa in the Presidential election.
He assured that Atiku and PDP already has 17 states in their pocket in the forthcoming elections, while negotiations are ongoing to lure more states to the 'party to beat'.
He assured Ipokia citizens and Ogun residents at large of 'relief from all the untold hardship, which the government of APC has subjected them to in the last 7 years.
He also promised to set up a Commission for border communities in the State if elected as Governor in the 2023 general elections.
He noted that the border communities in the State urgently need special attention of the Federal, State and Local Governments. VOA News report.
Mufutau Okeowo and numerous new party members were received following their cross-carpeting from the rival party after telling tales of hardship faced and the need for qualified representation which influenced their change of minds.
The party supporters and sympathizers, who thronged the venue of the campaign flag off, won different gift items ranging from; sewing machines, hair dryers, mobile phones, grinding machines, among several others during a raffle draw, apart from electric transformers, which Hon. Ladi Adebutu donated during the flag off.
