How Yayi Liberators Stole The Show At Oroona 2021 Festival.
The annual Oroona festival was celebrated on Saturday 20th November 2021 and indeed, it was a colorful celebration with high profile dignitaries attending the grand finale which was held inside the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Olu Of Ilaro Kingdom and the paramount ruler of Yewa Kingdom.
Amongst dignitaries present at the event was Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the deputy governor of Ogun state, Noimot Oyedele Salako, distinguished senator Adeola Solomon Olamilekan (Yayi) amongst others.
While addressing the mammoth crowd at the event, governor Dapo Abiodun admitted that the issue of infrastructural decay facing the state is enormous and that only him can not solve the problem.
The governor further stated that though his administration will not fix everything, no ongoing project will be abandoned by his administration.
While acknowledging the presence of senator Yayi, governor Dapo Abiodun said, our son is on loan in Lagos state and the appropriate time, we will bring him back home. The statement, a signal which indicates senator Yayi may be interested in contesting for the Ogun west senatorial seat which is presently been occupied by senator Tolu Odebiyi was greeted with cheers from the crowd gathered at the empire arena which hosted the reception for the festival.
The highlight of the event was when Yayi Liberators, a political group which canvases support for senator Yayi stole the show with the numbers of supporters who traveled all the way from Ado Odo Ota local government to give support to senator Yayi began to chant the west to west slogan which finally caught the attention of the senator.
The senator had to abandon his vehicle and moved with the convoy of hundreds of supporters of Yayi Liberators who trekked all the way from the palace to the empire ground where popular gospel musician, Mega 99 thrilled guests with some melodious rhythms.
Theme of this year's festival was tagged, Festival Of Mercy.
