Enough Is Enough, Fix Our Roads, Ota Residents Cries Out.

Residents of Ado Odo Ota local government trooped out in large numbers to protest the bad state of roads in Ado Odo Ota local government yesterday Monday 6th September 2021. The protest which started at the popular Osi round about at about 7am moved to Sango Ota under bridge before moving to Oju Ore where the local government chairman Sheriff Musa later addressed the protesters.

The protesters who are not happy with the Federal and state government over the deliberate neglect of roads in Ota accused governor Dapo Abiodun of bias in execution of road project in Ogun state.

According to some protesters who spoke with The Daily Advocate Online News, claimed the state government was working in other parts of the state in a very fast pace while giving excuses of paucity of funds in executing projects in Ota where the IGR of the state is coming from.

The protesters also accused the minister of works, Babatunde Fashola of deliberately looking away despite public outcry on the state of roads in Ota. We are tired of  propaganda on Ota roads enough is enough, it is time they answer us else, we may begin to occupy the road on daily basis. We will bring our mats here so they can know we are tired of empty promises, we can't continue to spend hours on the road while we some of our loved ones already lost their lives due to the state of roads in Ota.

This is not the first time residents of Ota will be coming out to protest the bad state of roads. Lawyers in Ota sometimes ago protested the bad state of roads which was followed by the #Fix Ota road protest early last year before the protest of yesterday.

  1. The most annoying part of it is that they fails to fix the roads and come to make noise by disturbing the public with their zirin. Henceforth any known politician and government officials should be forced to use the normal lane and even be forced out of their vehicle to treak in the hold up inorder to feel what the citizens are passing through. Except negative steps are taking against them there will be no solution.

  2. I'm overwhelmed with joy at this new development.

This is the only way to get to them, this roads that generate lots of revenue for the state has become an eyesaw.

Building of roads is one of our constitutional rights but the government pretends likt they are actually doing us favours whenever they manage to patch a small sections of the roads.
I would love to be join in the protest, pls notify me.
