MAN IN POLICE NET FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING SHOP SEEKING WOMAN IN OGUN.

  A 42 year old man, John Daniel, was on Sunday 30th of May 2021 arrested by men of Ogun state police command for forcefully having carnal knowledge of a 30 years old lady.  The suspect was arrested, following a complaint lodged at Sango ota divisional headquarters by the victim (name withheld), who reported that she went in search of a shop to rent for her business at about 6 pm, when she met the suspect, who told her that he has a container kept in his care by somebody, which she can use as a shop. The suspect, there and then asked her to follow him to where the container is, on getting to his house, the suspect asked the victim to sit down inside his living room, for him to call the owner of the container.  But, surprisingly, the suspect suddenly locked the door, and brought out a screwdriver and a bottle with which he threatened her to undressed. POLICE ARREST SIX RAIL VANDALS IN OGUN.

  Six men were on Sunday 30th of May 2021 arrested by men of Ogun State Police Command for vandalizing railway lane at Oteyi area of Ibogun in Ifo local government area of Ogun State. The suspects, Taiwo Ismaila, Egbekunle Abiodun, Abdullah Sanni, Nuru Ibrahim, Wasiu Aweda and Babatunde Sikiru were arrested following an information received by the the DPO Ibogun division that vandals were removing some rods along the rail lane. Upon the information, the DPO, CSP Samuel Oladele led his men to the scene where the six suspects were promptly apprehended. Recovered from them are; 27 rail iron rods, 2 burning touch with hose, 6long cylinders, 3short cylinders and one intercolder Volvo Truck with registration number SMK 61 XY  Meanwhile, the commissioner of police CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered the transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

FOUR LAND GRABBERS ARRESTED FOR UNLEASHING VIOLENCE ON OGUN COMMUNITY.

  Four suspected notorious land grabber were on Wednesday 26th of May 2021 arrested by men of Ogun state police command, while unleashing violence on the people of Babaode-Onibuku community in Ado odo Ota local government area of Ogun state.  The suspects, Najimu Ojumola 42yrs, Monday Olaleye 25yrs, Kehinde Martins 34yrs and Felix John 27yrs were arrested, following a distress call received by the policemen at Onipanu divisional headquarters, that Babaode-onibuku village was under siege by group of land grabbers, who invaded the village with dangerous weapons, and held  resdents of the community hostage.  Upon the distress call, the Dpo Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, quickly mobilized his men and moved to the scene for rescue operation.  On getting to the scene, the hoodlums launched an attack on the policemen and injured one ASP Tajudeen Adeleke and Inspector Babatunde Olayiwola, but they were later subdued, and two amongst them Najimu Ojumola and Monday Olaleye were apprehended.

  A foremost club in Ota, ‘Iganmode club’, has on Wednesday, honored Faith Odunsi, the ‘Global Mathematics Champion’. In a reception held to celebrate excellence as well as hard work which was put together by one of the leading societies in Ota, Iganmode club, the Global mathematics Champion, Faith Odunsi was described as a ‘Shining Star’ who should be well celebrated by the society. MOWE OFADA, OWODE EGBA ROAD: POLICE ASSURES TRAVELLERS OF ADEQUATE SECURITY DISPELS KIDNAPPING THREAT RUMOR.

The attention of Ogun State Police Command has been drawn to a publication circulating on social media warning people to avoid Mowe/Ofada/Owode-Egba road, as the road according to the false alarm has turned to kidnapper’s den. The Command wishes to State categorically that the information is nothing but a false alarm and a calculated attempt to cause panic in the mind of the people, most especially those living in that axis. The only kidnapping case that has ever been recorded in the area mentioned is that of a woman who was ambushed and abducted in her farm alongside her visitor on the 1st of May 2021. The two abductees have since regained their freedom and some suspects arrested by the Command in connection with the case while others on the run are being trailed. It is therefore a thing of surprise that somebody would just sit down in the comfort of his room and declare the entire area unsafe because of an isolated incident. CULT MEMBERS IN SUPREMACY BATTLE, NINE ARRESTED IN OGUN.

Nine members of Eye cult group, were on the 24th of May 2021 arrested in Ajegunle area of Ibogun during a supremacy battle between them and members of Alora confraternity.  The suspects; Sodiq Olabisi, Oluwatosin Andrew, Oladimeji Oyedele, Wasiu Raheem, Oyedokun Lekan, Yusuf Ajetunmobi, Busari Taoreed, Bolaji Raphael and Salami Toheeb were arrested following a bloody clash between the two groups.  While the clash was going on, distress call was made to the police divisional headquarters in Ibogun, and the DPO, CSP Samuel Oladele quickly led his men to the scene. PROTEST ROCKS OTA AS DAPO ABIODUN COMMISSIONS NAVY IKOLA ROAD.

 Some youths in Ado Ota Local Government are presently mounting road block on the ever busy winners Idi - Iroko road in what seems to a protest which they tagged End Sars phase II.  Though the motives of the protesters is yet unknown, the protest is coming at a time when the governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun is commissioning the recently reconstructed Navy Ikola road in Ado Odo Ota local government.  As at time of filling this report, The Daily Advocate News can authoritatively report that joint security efforts is ongoing to disperses the protesting youths as commuters are finding it difficult to have their way.  More details in our subsequent bulletin.

POLICE FROWNS AT UNRULY BEHAVIOUR OF OKADA RIDERS IN OGUN STATE.

 The Ogun State police command has noticed with dismay, the unruly and disorderly conduct of motorcycle riders popularly known as (Okada) in recent times. The riders have formed the habit of violently attacking any motorist, involved in an accident with any of their members, regardless of whether such motorist is at fault or not. In most cases, they will not only set such vehicle ablaze, they will also inflict serious injuries on the driver, the motor-boy, and other motorists, and in some cases, caused death of drivers.  The most recent one is the mayhem caused by the Okada riders along Asero/Obantoko on Tuesday 25th of May 2021, simply because one of them had an accident with a truck. FOUR ARRESTED FOR HIJACKING A TRAILER LOAD OF GOLDEN PENNY FLOUR.

Operatives of Ogun State Police Command, on the 5th of May 2021, arrested four members of armed robbery gang, who hijacked a trailer load of golden penny flour, along Shagamu-ijebu ode express way on the 16th of April 2021. The suspects; Eze Anthony Sopruchuckwu m' 34 yrs, Eze Chijoke Edeh m' 29yrs, Olalekan Ayodele Muritala m' 44yrs and Samuel Johnson m' 32yrs were all arrested following a report lodged at Ikenne divisional headquarters, that a trailer, with registration number ANG 57 LG, loaded with 600 bags of Golden Penny flour and driven by one Ahmed Tiamiyu was hijacked along the expressway, while the driver and his motor boy were taken to the bush, where their hands were tied to their backs and their mouths cellotaped, before taken away the truck and the flours. POS THEIFS ARRESTED FOR ROBBING A POS OPERATOR IN OGUN

  Two armed robbery suspects, were on Saturday 22nd of May 2021 arrested by men of Ogun state police command, for robbing one Ajose Bilikisu, a point of sales (POS)  operator at gun point.  The duo were arrested following a distress call received by policemen attached to Idanyin divisional headquarters, that four armed men were attacking a POS operator at Ketu Adiowe community, and that the hoodlums have dispossessed the woman of her bag containing the sum of sixty thousand naira (#60000), two androids phones and a bunch of key. WOMAN ARRESTED FOR STABBING HUSBAND TO DEATH IN OGUN.

A 47 yrs old woman, Olanshile Nasirudeen, has been apprehended by men of Ogun state police command, for stabbing her 51 year old husband Jimoh Nasirudeen to death.  The suspect was arrested, following a distress call received by the Dpo Obalende divisional headquarters, ijebu ode, that the suspect who is a co- butcher with the deceased, sighted a woman who her husband recently impregnated at the abattoir, and she started questioning the woman about her audacity to get pregnant for her husband.  This led to a hot argument between her and the deceased, as a result of which the suspect picked a knife, and stabbed the deceased at the back joint of his left leg, thereby, cutting one of his veins. OGUN STATE COALITION OF CIVIL SOCIETIES COMMENDS OGUN STATE POLICE COMMAND

The Ogun state coalition of civil societies, a prodemocracy and Human Rights group has commended Ogun state police command under the leadership of CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun for its proactiveness and promptness in responding to distress calls. The group passed the commendation in an official letter dated 14thof May 2021, signed by comrades Yinka Folarin and Olaonipekun Bisi, the Chairman and Ag. Secretary respectively. The commendation, according to the group is based on timely rescue of many kidnap victims and subsequent arrest of many of the kidnappers across the State. ROBBERS ENGAGE POLICE IN GUN DUEL IN OGUN, ONE ARRESTED.

  Dare devil armed robbers, in the early hours of Saturday 15th of May 2021, engaged men of Ogun state police command in gun battle at Ipamesan area of Sango ota. This followed a distress call, received by the DPO Sango ota divisional headquarters, that robbers were operating at Ipamesan area, and that they had already buggled a warehouse in the area. Upon the distress call, the DPO, CSP Godwin Idehai, quickly mobilized his patrol team, and moved to the scene. On sighting the policemen, the robbers,who had snatched two vehicles from different locations, took to flight, but were hotly chased by the policemen. On getting to Joju area, and realising the determination of the patrol team to subdue them,  they decided to engage the policemen in gun battle.  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission wishes to inform the general public that it has not issued any notice in the social media promising financial reward for anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of a Yahoo Boy. This clarification became necessary following phone calls by citizens wanting to cash in on notices in the social media by fraudsters promising a reward of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) for friends, family and relatives of yahoo boys who hand them over to the EFCC. FOUR ARRESTED FOR KIDNAPPING A TEENAGER IN OGUN

Four members of a kidnap syndicate, have been arrested by operatives of Ogun state police command, for kidnapping a 13 yrs old girl in Onipanu area of Ado odo ota local government area of the state.  The four suspects, John Nelson, 21yrs, Adeleke Ayotunde 29yrs, Adekunle Basit 20yrs and Abey Fagbemi 20yrs, were arrested, following a complaint lodged at Onipanu divisional headquarters, by one Adejunwon Odunowo, who reported that, her 13yrs old daughter Susan Odunowo, was sent on an errand by her mother at about 6:30 p.m. of 6th of May 2021, but didn't return home. TWO ROBBERY SUSPECTS SHOT DURING ROBBERY OPERATION IN OGUN

 Two suspected armed robbers  were on Sunday 9th of May 2021, shot dead at shagamu interchange, along Lagos -Ibadan expressway by men of Ogun state police command.  The two suspects were shot dead following a distress call received by the Dpo shagamu division, CSP Okiki Agunbiade, at about 9 pm, that a robbery operation was going on at shagamu interchange and that one of their victims has been seriously injured.  Upon the distress call, the Dpo quickly led his patrol team to the scene where they met the robbers attacking another person one Agba Enoch.
