OGUN STATE, NIGERIA - November 25, 2024 Residents and landlords of Sokenu Ibikan, Obere Otta community in Ogun state staged a peaceful protest yesterday, condemning the community leadership for allegedly conspiring with an unknown electrical contractor to plunge the community into darkness for over a month. The protesters, who gathered at the residence of Vice Chairman Kazeem Hamad Lanre, expressed their disappointment and frustration with the community leadership. They alleged that the contract awarding process was opaque, and the community was kept in the dark about the details. "We're tired of being left in the dark," said one protester.
